Exhibition "Smart Living" at the CRAI campus Catalunya
From to
How is technology transforming our cities? What ethical and social challenges does it pose? These are some of the questions addressed by the Smart Living exhibition, created by Professor Simon Rogerson, founder and director of the Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility (De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom) and promoter of the most important conference on ethics and technology, ETHICOMP (ETHICs and COMPuters), which has held more than 22 editions since 1995.
The exhibition, organised by the Aula/Catedra Telefónica on Smart Cities URV-UB, opens on 20 February with an event in the Sala de Juntes on the Campus Catalunya of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili at 11.00 am, with the presence of the author, Prof. Simon Rogerson. It can be visited at the CRAI on the same campus until 14 March.
The exhibition is made up of four towers where visitors can reflect on the Ethics of Smart Living. Through creative art, digital life in cities is explored through poems, images, quotes and diagrams. Visitors will also be able to interact with the author via X (formerly Twitter) @srog5.
After its stay at the URV, the exhibition will travel to several universities throughout 2025, including the Pompeu Fabra University, the University of Barcelona, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the University of León, the University of Castilla La Mancha, the Complutense University of Madrid, the Rey Juan Carlos University and the University of Alcalá de Henares.

Exhibition "Federico García Lorca in the world: a poet, a thousand views" at the Catalunya campus CRAI
From to
This year we commemorate the 90th anniversary of Federico García Lorca's visit to Tarragona, an episode that, although brief, left a profound mark on the city. In September 1935, Lorca arrived in the city and immersed himself in its history and festivities, becoming fascinated by its Mediterranean essence.
During his stay, he visited emblematic spaces such as the Necropolis and the Archaeological Promenade, from where he exclaimed with admiration: "This is pure Rome!". The Roman architecture and classical legacy of Tarragona awakened in him a deep respect for its historical grandeur. But he also experienced the city at its most lively and popular, participating in the Santa Tecla Festival, where he was captivated by the rhythm of the grallers, the music and the celebratory atmosphere. In one of the most evocative moments of his visit, on Unió Street, he expressed his enthusiasm by saying that he felt "between Dionysus and Bacchus", referring to the festive spirit and passion that Tarragona transmitted to him.
Furthermore, that visit was also the scene of a significant event in his personal life: the reconciliation with Salvador Dalí. After years of estrangement, Tarragona witnessed the reunion between the poet and the painter from Empordà, two of the great geniuses of the 20th century. In those days, they shared conversations and toured the city together, in an attempt to re-establish their old friendship, which had been marked by tensions and misunderstandings. This moment of reunion was a symbol of the emotional and artistic intensity that characterized their relationship.
Lorca, today, is more than an Andalusian poet: he is a universal voice that continues to cross borders. This exhibition, which brings together portraits of the poet from around the world and poems translated by professors and students from the Faculty of Letters of the Rovira i Virgili University, reflects this universality. Tarragona, which once welcomed him among vestiges and folklore, today commemorates him as a symbol of the living word, of dialogue between cultures and of poetry as a heritage of all humanity.
