Promotion of the URV's participatory budgets from the campus CRAI

What would you allocate €50,000 towards? The URV has launched a participatory budgeting campaign aimed at students of the university community. Until 30 November, proposals for projects to improve the University can be submitted.

During this period, the CRAI joins the promotion of the initiative through a roll-up that will circulate through all the CRAI of the campus.

The purpose of the exhibition is to give visibility to the armed conflict. The set of images captures the cruelty of a war conflict that, unfortunately, has surrounded Europe in the middle of the 21st century, leading the viewer to reflect on the reality of Human Rights aimed at the war in Ukraine. We find images around people and homes.

This exhibition is curated by Mirades del món and has the collaboration of the URV Solidària.

CRAI campus Bellissens and Center for European Documentation

Next Monday, November 4th, the European Documentation Center will launch the Campaign A shared and prosperous future! #SustainableCompetitiveness.

The campaign is carried out in collaboration with the Europe Direct Tarragona point and consists of the dissemination of European economic policies through their promotion on tablecloths that will be distributed in the campus bars (Sescelades, Catalunya and Bellissens).

Also, if you post on your social media tagging us, we'll give you a gift. You can pick up your gift at the loan desks of CRAI campus Bellissens, CRAI campus Catalunya and CRAI campus Sescelades.

Face-to-face training on the Scopus database

On November 4th, we are offering Scopus training in English . The aim is to inform researchers, students and library staff of the updates, novelties and functionalities of this database.

The session will take place in person in the CRAI Sescelades campus training room.

In the proceedings of the II International Congress 50 years of the Calafell Boom. Carlos Barral and ... Julio Cortázar, at the CRAI Campus Catalunya you can visit the exhibition "Humor y tinta: portraits of Julio Cortázar and Carlos Barral in the 60th anniversary of Rayuela".

This exhibition shows caricatures of Cortázar and Barral, made by various artists from around the world on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Cortázar's death and the 60th anniversary of the publication of Rayuela. These caricatures are accompanied by fragments of the work Rayuela, the result of an event held on June 4, where several fragments of the work were chosen at random among the participants.

The URV hosts the XI Wikimarathon of the Catalan language in Tarragona

CRAI campus Catalunya

The URV is co-organising, once again, with the Department of Linguistic Policy of the Generalitat of Catalonia and Amical Wikimedia, the Wikimarathon of the Catalan language in Tarragona, which this year is in its eleventh edition.

The event will take place on November 8, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the CRAI on the Catalunya campus of the URV, and it has the involvement of the Language and Publications Service and the CRAI. This year Viquillengua will be dedicated to radio in Catalan on the occasion of 100 years of radio in Catalonia . Interested people can register for the activity at this address , or by sending an email to coordinació(ELIMINAR)@wikimedia.cat .

II Online Training Cycle of the Web of Science database

The FECYT, together with Clarivate, has organized the I Online Training Cycle of the Web of Science database that will take place throughout the second semester of 2024, with the aim of publicizing the updates, changes and the novelties of this database, through several free sessions, in Spanish, of 60 minutes duration, and which will be developed during the coming months, at the rate of 3 sessions per month. The sessions offered for the month of November 2024 are:

  • November 12 (from 2 to 3 p.m.): Open access links to Web of Science (advanced level)
  • November 13 (2 to 3 p.m.): Search all Web of Science databases (advanced level)
  • November 14 (from 2 to 3 p.m.): Social Sciences and Humanities at Web of Science (advanced level)

As usual, remember that these sessions are open and aimed at all students, researchers and users who are part of any Spanish R+D+i institution with a WoS license.

You can consult all the sessions and formalize the previous registration through this link. The first time you access it, you will be asked to validate yourself in SABiDi with your university credentials. From here, you can choose the session or sessions that interest you. Use the institutional email of the URV when filling out the registration form. Once formalized, you will receive a confirmation email that you must save because it contains the link to be able to access the session on the day and time indicated. Please check your spam folder if you haven't received it.

All users who complete the courses and answer 100% of all online questions that will be asked live during the session will receive a satisfaction survey by email and, a few weeks later, the certificate of attendance.

The recorded sessions and training material of other courses will also be available for download on Web of Science and also on Scopus.
